- Disregard session timeout clock running at the bottom of the screen
- You can create your “account” first or when you request your item.
- Click on OCLC
- Screen is titled: Wisconsin Libraries’ Catalog Advanced Search
- To create personal account – click on “My Account”
- Screen is titled: OCLC User Registration – click on “New User Registration”
- User name: case sensitive, minimum of 8 characters
- Password: case sensitive, minimum of 8 characters with a suggestion to use 1 upper case & 1 numeric for security.
- Continue filling in the fields indicated with a star; email is preferred but not required.
- Click “Register”
- You are now ready to search.
- Advanced search is the default search (basic search is available also):
- Type in title, author or subject
- Use dropdown menu to change keyword to your choice
- Limit Type To: to request a particular format
- Subtitle Limits: to further limit your search by audience, content or format
- Limit Availability To: should not be checked
- Click Search
- Click on one of the titles not owned by MCPL which shows up in the basic info on the first screen.
- To request the item, click on the “ILL” button located at the top or at the bottom of the screen (listed in a row of grey buttons in the light grey band).
- Screen is titled: ILL Request – note instructions that appear just above the “submit” button.
- If you have created your account, the required fields will fill in. Highlight “pick up location” to change, if necessary.
- Click Submit
- Screen is titled: Wisconsin Libraries Catalog Detailed Record – Your resource sharing request was sent successfully
- Click on Resource Sharing to see all requested items.
- The “help” button explains the fields and the different status.
- Click: Home for a new request or Sign out and “X” out.
