View upcoming events.WAUSAU - Poet Laureates Max Garland and Bruce Dethlefsen will speak at 2 p.m. on April 20 in the Wausau Room at the Marathon County Public Library Wauasu Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.    Garland is the present Wisconsin Poet Laureate and Dethlefsen served as the state&apos;s 2011-2012 poet laureate. The poets will read their work and answer questions following the readings. Carrie Shipers, poet and assistant professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County, will moderate the program.    Max Garland is a professor of English at UW-Eau Claire and is an award-winning author. He wrote two collections of poems, "The Postal Confessions" and "Hunger Wide as Heaven" and a pocket-book of poems, "Apparition." He was named the 2013-2014 state poet laureate by the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters.     Bruce Dethlefsen is the award-winning author of two pocket-books of poetry, "A Decent Reed" and "Something Near the Dance Floor" and one full-length book of poems, "Breather." Dethlefsen, now retired, was appointed the 2011-2012 state poet laureate by former Gov. Jim Doyle.    (Find their books in the Library Catalog.)    The program is presented as part of National Poetry Month and National Library Week. Funding for the program was provided by the Friends of the Marathon County Public Library.
