NEW! March 4 is World Read Aloud Day, which calls attention to the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories for all ages! MCPL-Wausau will offer read aloud sessions throughout the day. Children birth to preschool and their caregivers can join us at 2pm, 2:30pm or 3pm for special read alouds of favorite and classic picture books. School aged children (K-5) can join us at 3:30pm, 4pm, and 4:30pm for read alouds geared toward their interests. Young adult selections will be read for teens at 6:30pm, 7pm, and 7:30pm. Teens will also get to try out a variety of audiobooks and Playaways. Starting at 6:30pm, adults can get a tutorial on how to use OverDrive and how to download audiobooks. Families with young children are invited to hear Marathon County children's author Mary Denk perform a hilarious enactment of her book "Ann's Million Dollar Cow" with her friend Marilyn Sonnentag playing the part of the cow. Art and craft projects related to the theme will follow the dramatic reader's theater. Copies of her book will be available for sale after the event for those who may be interested in purchasing.
