FamilySearch — Free Family History and Genealogy Records

Find A Grave — A massive collection of cemetery and grave information collected by volunteers around the world. Entries often include gravestone inscriptions and photographs, and may also include obituaries, scans of newspaper articles, family information, and more. Search by name or browse by cemetery.

Marathon Co. Genealogical Society — A group of professional and amateur genealogists who regularly meet to share research strategies, discuss local history, plan research projects, and assist others in their research.

Marathon County Historical Society — The purpose of the Marathon County Historical Society is to collect, preserve and exhibit materials relating to the history of Marathon County. The museum library collects and catalogs printed materials and documents to aid the public in historical and genealogical research. Members of the museum staff initiate and carry out general research projects, site identifications and educational programs for presentation to schools and area groups.

National Archives | Resources for Genealogists — Maintained by the National Archives, provides links to federal documents, databases, and online collections, plus tips and guides, all pertaining to genealogy and family history.
