Free basic computer and technology instruction, taught by MCPL staff.
The following free computer classes are held at the MCPL - Wausau Headquarters in the first floor computer lab. Class size is limited to 9 students per session.
Call the Library’s Reference Desk at 261-7230 or contact us online to check class availability and to reserve your seat. There is no charge for attendance.
Sign-up for one class or take them all! These classes are entirely free. They can be taken as often you want and in any order. First come, first serve.

to use a mouse, and basic Windows navigation.
- Using Windows XP: an Introduction --
Find out how to use Windows XP operating system to open, save,
and delete your files, find your files folders and drives, create and name folders, use the recycle bin, and more.
- Introduction to the Internet --
Learn how to use the Internet and basic search tools and techniques
to help you find the information that you want.
- Internet II: Beyond the Basics --
Discover advanced searching techniques and learn how to search, evaluate Internet sites, and customize screens.
- MS Word 2007: An Introduction --
Learn how to create and format, documents, save and print them,
and other basic commands of this word processing program.
- Finding Trustworthy Health and Medical Information on the Internet.
- Working with Digital Photography: using the free photo editor Picasa.
Private Classes -- Does your entire office or group want to attend computer classes? With a minimum of 4 people, you may schedule a private class at the Library. Contact the Library’s Reference Desk at 261-7230, or click here to email the library for more information. |
