Do you love cozy murder mysteries? Do you love books and libraries? I’ve compiled a list of my favorite cozy murder mysteries with a book or library theme, perfect for a relaxing reading session on a cold winter's night (or, really, any time of the year).
If you’re like me and love a good psychological thriller too, these are great to read in between other genres, when your mind may need a bit of a break and craves a lighter read.

"LENDING A PAW"
A Bookmobile Cat Mystery Series
Eddie the cat follows Minnie home one day, and ever since, they’ve been inseparable. He has a sneaky habit of ending up in Minnie’s bag as she heads to the library, but as the librarian in charge of the local bookmobile, she’s able to get away with it (and her patrons love it!). Eddie also has a habit of finding dead bodies, and Minnie has a habit of somehow getting mixed up in the mystery that ensues.

"A DARK AND STORMY MURDER "
A Writers Apprentice Mystery Series
Lena London’s dream comes true when she lands her dream job of being the assistant to her favorite suspense author Camilla Graham, and even gets to live rent-free with Camilla as part of the job. Her dream job soon turns sour after a body is discovered right outside Camilla’s beautiful estate and they both soon delve into finding out who the killer is, before the killer comes back for them. I loved the growing friendship of these two characters, getting to know the supporting characters, and thought the mysteries throughout the series were really intriguing.

"CURIOSITY THRILLED THE CAT"
Magical Cats Mystery Series
Another series for any fan of libraries, books, and cats (or all 3!), the series follows librarian Kathleen Paulson in a small Minnesota town. When two strays follow her home, she begins to realize they aren’t your ordinary strays. Laced with supernatural elements, a dose of murder, and a good helping of interesting characters, and this series is a fun read.

"CRIME AND POETRY"
Magical Bookshop Series
Another series for those who like a bit of a supernatural element, this cozy murder mystery series follows Violet as she returns home to help her grandma run her bookstore, Charming Books. It’s no ordinary bookstore though, as the perfect books tends to fly off the shelves for the perfect person, sometimes literally! There’s more than meets the eye too when it comes to the giant tree growing in the middle of the shop, but it only adds to the charm of the series.

"BY BOOK OR BY CROOK"
Lighthouse Library Mystery Series
When a 10-year relationship ends, Lucy realizes she needs a change of scenery. Not one to completely give up on her love of books, she goes from the Harvard Library to a library in a lighthouse, complete with her own apartment on the top floor. A cozy murder mystery series for anyone who’d want to live above a library.

"BOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING "
Library Lover’s Mystery Series
As the name suggests, this is a perfect series for any library lover. This series follows library director Lindsey, in the picturesque town of Briar Creek. Readers will get to know the characters that make this town unique, and follow Lindsey along as she helps solve crimes that seem to suddenly pop up around town.
