The Great American Read at MCPL!

to kill a mockingbird cover

October 27, 2018

The finale of PBS's Great American Read aired earlier this week, where the vote of the public was tallied and the most beloved book of America was revealed.

What topped the list, you ask? It may come as no surprise that Harper Lee's beloved novel To Kill a Mockingbird was crowned the most loved book. Read by young adults and adults for decades, Harper Lee's novel is cherished by many.

To Kill a Mockingbird was followed up by two series in the second and third spots, Outlander and Harry Potter

In what order did Americans rank the rest of the books on the list? See for yourself below! Plus, you can check out any of these books through MCPL's catalog, our interlibrary loan system, or via the OverDrive and Libby apps!
