Do you and your family or friends enjoy playing board games? You’re not alone! More than 5,000 new board games were introduced into the U.S. market in 2017, thus proving that the board game boom is real! Weekly game nights are a great way to unplug and connect with friends and family. If you’re looking to “try-before-you-buy” a game that you don’t already own – or if you just want to play something at the library – we can help!
At MCPL Wausau, we have a variety of board games available for in-house checkout. Come see us at the Children’s Desk and pick from our collection of games (a full list of them is available below). Just leave your library card at the desk to borrow the game for in-library play and retrieve your card once the game and its contents are returned. We have classics like chess, Scrabble, Sorry!, Monopoly, and Yahtzee; fun crowd-pleasers like Pictionary, Taboo, and Exploding Kittens; and epic strategy games like Risk, Ticket to Ride, and Dungeons & Dragons. Of course, we have games geared for our younger patrons too, such as Candyland, The Ladybug Game, and the Dinosaurs Matching Game. Please note that all games are available for in-house checkout only, meaning that they must be played inside the library and cannot leave the building.
All ages are welcome to check out the games, so come see us at the children’s desk and start playing today! For more information, call 715-261-7220.
