In order to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and its impact on members of the community and our staff, the Marathon County Public Library’s headquarters in Wausau and its branches throughout the county will remain closed to the public through June 15, 2020. We will continue to provide important library services such as contact-free curbside pickup, free Wi-Fi outside of our buildings, online programming and reference phone calls and emails. In addition, due dates and fines are suspended during this time.

We are working with county officials, statewide library leadership, and our library system on developing a multi-phase reopening plan that prioritizes public health. We will be preparing each of our locations for a gradual reopening that is compliant with CDC and Marathon County Health Department guidelines for safety and hygiene under pandemic conditions. The Library Board will review these plans and preparations at their next meeting on June 15, 2020, and further decisions on the library’s re-opening will be made at that time.

We'll continue to keep you informed through our website, e-newsletter and social media channels. In addition, please follow the Marathon County website and Marathon County Health Department Facebook page for related updates.

Thank you for your support during these challenging times!
