September is often a time when many people are getting back to their normal routine after summer has come to an end. But September is also Passport Awareness Month, a time when the federal government tries to educate the public on what kind of travel a passport is needed for, how to apply and where. It’s never too early to start thinking about your next vacation, and if you need a passport to get to where you’ll be going.
Passport services are available at MCPL Wausau every Thursday and every other Saturday. During your visit, you can get assistance filling out your passport application or renewal application, get your passport photo taken, and get the application submitted for processing.
Walk-ins are welcome every Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., or by appointment from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Appointments can also be made every other Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. (available Saturdays through the end of 2019 include September 14, September 28, October 12, October 26, November 9, November 23, December 7 and December 21.)
In addition to our passport services in Wausau, our trained passport application acceptance agents will also visit three of our branches in the coming weeks for special one-day-only passport application events. We will hold these events on Monday, September 16 from 3-7 p.m. at our Athens Branch; Monday, September 30 from 3-7 p.m. at our Mosinee Branch; and Tuesday, October 22 from 3-7 p.m. at our Stratford Branch.
September is also Library Card Sign-Up Month, so you can sign up for a free Marathon County Public Library card during your visit to one of our locations, too!
