The Marathon County Public Library's Mosinee Branch is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, May 16, following a brief closure due to a roofing construction project. The library has been closed to the public since last week. Once again, we'd like like to thank our patrons for their patience and understanding!

The branch will remain closed throughout the coming days until the project is complete.We will follow-up with updates as we receive them and notify the public when the branch is set to reopen.

Beginning May 26, the front entrance of our Mosinee Branch (along Main St.) will be temporarily closed while the City of Mosinee completes work on the sidewalk in front of the library building. For the time being, patrons are asked to use the side entrance of the library (along 2nd St.), which is located next to the branch's overnight book drop. This entrance is also wheelchair accessible. The sidewalk project is expected to last approximately one week and theMosinee Branch will continue to fully operate during this project, with no library hours or events affected.

Last week, we held a program for teens and adults at our Mosinee Branch focused on making two homemade relaxation products: a coconut oil salt scrub and a stress-relieving foot soak. If you missed that program, you can now make the items yourself using the provided instructions below!
Both items seemed to go over well to those who came to the event. The process of making both the salt scrub and the foot soak were a bit messy, and scented our library for a while (in a good way!) Everyone had a great time and appreciated the safe, homemade items they got to take home with them.

Next weekend you will have the opportunity to journey back in time to the time period 1850-1920 during the Little Bull Falls Log Jam Festival in Mosinee. The festival starts on Friday August 14 and continues through Sunday August 16 from 10-4pm each day at River Park in Mosinee.
The Mosinee Branch Library will have a display featuring the history of Little Bull Falls and surrounding area at the Log Jam Festival . Come and see the pictures, tools, Indian artifacts and many other items that have been donated to the Mosinee Library from the Marathon County Historical Museum and people in the community.

If you are planning a future trip to the Mosinee Branch Library, and of course we hope that you are, we want you to be aware of bridge maintenance and road construction that may affect your journey.
The Wisconsin River Bridge, which is the main bridge in Mosinee, will be closed Friday July 31 through Tuesday August 4 weather and construction progress permitting. During this time traffic will be detoured via Interstate-39, Wisconsin State Highway 34, Marathon County C and Marathon County O.
Water Street to Pine Street will also be closed for repairs to the pavement. This road runs in front of the Mosinee Branch Library.
