Don’t miss these fun events scheduled for National Library Week 2012, “You Belong @ Your Library. Help us celebrate libraries with some free, fun, educational programs for you @MCPL Wausau.
Monday April 9
- 11:00am-3:00pm- National Library Week kicks off with a reception and refreshments for customers.
- 6:30 pm--A Light-hearted Look at Wausau/Marathon County History--Gary Gisselman, historian with the Marathon County Historical Society will take us on an interesting tour of some of the stranger parts of our hometown history.
Tuesday April 10
6:00pm—Movie Night—“Courageous”—When tragedy strikes four policemen struggle with faith and their roles as husbands and fathers.
Wednesday April 11
6:30-7:30pm “A First Look at Facebook”—If want some help getting started using Facebook, this is your chance. This free class will be taught by Mike Theiss from the UW-Extension. Register by calling 715-261-7230.
Thursday April 12
6:30 pm Drop Everything and Read” (National DEAR Day). Special people in our community will begin by sharing favorite stories and themed reading areas will be available for families to read together. If families wish, they can also read to a therapy dog. Prizes awarded and snacks for sharing.
Saturday April 14
- 10:30am Family Storytime
- 1:00pm--Children’s Matinee—“Hop”—E.B., the Easter Bunny ‘s teenage son, heads to Hollywood determined to be a drummer in a rock ‘n’ roll band.
Saturday April 21
10:30 am—Skippy Dreams Big Dreams—Join us for music and merriment as we welcome Skippy and Dave. Dave Parker is a musician and ventriloquist and his friend Skippy is a very vocal puppet. Free family fun!
Month of April—Culver’s National Library Week coloring contest—kids can pick up a coloring sheet @ all locations of MCPL, color it, return it to the library for display, and receive a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream. Drawings will be held at the end of the month for coupons for free kids meals @Culver’s.
