Marathon County Public Library is extending its observance of National Library Week (April 10-16) throughout the month of April by highlighting its employees through a series of staff profiles! Now through April 30, learn a little bit about the personnel at our nine MCPL locations, and feel free to give them a friendly "hello" next time you see them!

What are some of your main job responsibilities?
Checking-in books from branch libraries, V-Cat libraries and here at Wausau Headquarters, as well as scheduling assignments for the page team, who pull and re-shelve books. I also pull books from MCPL’s collection to fill hold requests for patrons.
 
Describe yourself in three words.
Responsible, hardworking, respectful.
 
What book(s) are you currently reading?
Spark Joy and The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, both by Marie Kondo.
 
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my work is ensuring that the residents of Marathon County have the most reliable access to the library resources, which add value to their lives and the community.
 
What’s the best advice anyone has given you? 
Through a quote by Maya Angelou, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
 
How do you think MCPL will continue to transform in the future?
I think MCPL will continue to be proactive in assessing and in meeting the needs of the community.
