Summer Fun Begins This Week!

June 14, 2009

Lots of special events will be happening this summer at all Marathon County Public Library locations. Most of the libraries will be having their first special program this week.

Bob Kann—juggler, musician, storyteller and all-around entertainer extraordinaire, will be performing at three shows (10:30 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:30 pm) Tuesday, June 16 at the Wausau Library. He will also be at the Rothschild Branch (program held at Rothschild Elementary School) for two shows Thursday, June 18.

If you’re looking for a chance to make your own crafts, Athens has the program for you--Tuesday June 16, featuring crafts and sidewalk chalk art.

Musician Bill Kehl will present “Earth, Music, Magic”--a lively show full of audience participation, featuring his collection of musical instruments from around the globe and through the ages—at Hatley and Mosinee (Tuesday, June 16) and at Marathon (at Marathon Elementary School) and Stratford (Wednesday, June 17).

Stuart Stotts will present a program filled with music, stories, laughter and fun at Edgar Wednesday, June 17. This program will be held at Edgar Elementary School.

All of these programs are absolutely free and open to all ages.

Wausau’s programs for Teens will also kickoff this week—Thursday, June 18 at 5:00, with a host of creative activities to explore, including a graffiti wall and duct tape crafts.

For more information about any of these programs, check out the SLP website, or contact your local library or call the Children's Library at 261-7220. Come and help us kick off our “Be Creative” summer program!
