Video: National Library Week 2016 Historical Photo Slideshow

To go along with the 2016 NLW theme of "Libraries Transform," MCPL has put together a historical slideshow featuring images and information highlighting the many ways MCPL transformed, from starting as a small men's literary club in the mid-to-late 1800s to becoming a modern-day entity that serves the largest county in Wisconsin (by area) with nine locations. Watch MCPL's evolution and catch a glimpse of what the future may have in store!

A moving, inspirational evening with Gary Beyer, who was diagnosed in 2008 with a rare, untreatable muscle disease called Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). He's since written two books and speaks with groups all over Wisconsin and beyond about staying positive and living a fulfilling life in the face of illness - an illness shared by just 11 other people in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin author David B. Whitehurst leads a discussion of a 2004 incident in which a Hmong individual, Chai Soua Vang, killed six deer hunters and wounded eight others. Whitehurst, author of "Tree Stand Murders" about the incident, argues the shootings were more than racially motivated.
