Can I get a library card if I don't live nearby?

FAQ: Can I get a library card if I don't live nearby?

Answer:

Persons without a permanent residence in Wisconsin may apply for a temporary account and receive a library card. Applications for a temporary account must be made in person, and applicants must show a state-issued ID card or a U.S. passport. Temporary accounts expire automatically after three months, and there are borrowing restrictions; contact us for details.

Anyone with a permanent residence in Wisconsin may apply for a Marathon County Public Library account. (See "How can I get a library card?")

Out-of-state visitors who only need to use library computers may request a daily guest pass instead of applying for a temporary account
