FAQ: Does the library offer free tax forms? When will they arrive, and which forms are available?
Every year, the Marathon County Public Library orders a selection of commonly-used tax forms and publications from the IRS and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
These materials are offered for free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at all MCPL locations; however, those who need a large number of forms (professional tax preparers, employers, landlords, etc.) are asked to order forms in bulk directly from the government. The selection varies yearly, but generally includes the main income tax forms (e.g. the federal 1040 forms and Wisconsin's form 1), the Wisconsin Homestead form and Rent Certificate, and related instruction booklets. Forms and publications not included in the selection may be printed by library staff for 10 cents per page upon request.
While these materials generally are available from the end of January through April, this is not guaranteed. Moreover, supplies may run out and need to be re-ordered. Please contact us to ensure we have the forms you need before you arrive.
