FAQ: How can I get a library card?
Answer:
Please note: During the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, all library card applications must be made online; in-person applications are not available at this time.
Marathon County Public Library cards are available free to all residents of Wisconsin. You may register for a library card online or complete an application form at any MCPL location. You will need to provide a Wisconsin driver's license or ID card with current address.
Visitors from out of state may apply for a temporary account.
Please note:
- Patrons less than 18 years of age must apply in person with a parent or guardian present.
- If you already have an account with MCPL or another V-Cat library, you may not open a new account. Your original account will be updated instead. If you no longer have the card and your account is expired, you may receive a free replacement card; otherwise, a replacement card is $2.
