Title: Teen Zone Xbox Gaming Procedures

Marathon County Public Library (MCPL) offers an Xbox gaming system in the Teen
Zone at the Wausau Headquarters location to make the library more welcoming to teens
and engage them in collaborative and alternative learning experiences through games.
Anyone using the Xbox gaming system must have a MCPL library card in
good standing with fines less than $10.00.
Teens 12 years old and older may use the Xbox.
Use of the Xbox is limited to teens in grades 6-12 during the following
times:
All day on weekends and school holidays (including summer
vacation)
After 3pm Monday - Friday
Adults may use the Xbox during school hours.
Special library times, events and programs may result in extended
checkout periods or unavailability of the Xbox gaming system.
MCPL Wireless Xbox controller checkout period will be limited to 2 hours
per day. No renewals are allowed. Fines are $10.00 per hour.
Patrons must ask to use the Xbox at the MCPL Reference desk. Any
controllers or equipment that is needed to play will be checked out to the
patron.
A patron may check out two controllers and allow a friend to play, as long
as they are playing together. Both controllers should be returned at the
same time.
The patron who checks out the Wireless Xbox controller(s) will be held
responsible for any replacement costs or damages, up to the maximum
cost of replacement, regardless of who damages the item.
MCPL Wireless Xbox controllers must be returned to the desk where it
was checked out at least 15 minutes prior to the library closing. Any
damages made to the Wireless Xbox controller or failure to return the
Wireless Xbox controller will result in the patron being charged the full
replacement cost.

MCPL Wireless Xbox controller may not be removed from the library
building or moved to another area of the library. For safekeeping, the
Wireless Xbox controller may be left with a staff person at the MCPL
reference desk for a brief period of time.
When using the MCPL Xbox, gamers must treat the Wireless Xbox
controller gently; and keep volume and noise level low. Patrons who do
not follow the above rules will be asked by staff to stop for the day.
Patrons who repeatedly abuse the Wireless Xbox controller will have their
gaming privileges revoked.
Xbox games will be changed out every two weeks. Only designated staff
will change the Xbox games.
