The Broken Girls

Staff Review: The Broken Girls

"The Broken Girls" by Simone St. James

Cover: 'The Broken Girls'
★★★★★

Part ghost story, part murder mystery, this atmospheric novel captivated me from the first page. Centered around a now abandoned school for troubled girls, Idlewild Hall holds secrets of the past within its walls and grounds. The reader learns the stories of the abandoned girls who were forced to attend, the ghost who forces its victims to relive their worst memories, and multiple murder victims throughout its history. Fiona, who has never gotten over her sister’s murder on the grounds of Idlewild Hall, soon finds herself delving into the building’s history when a wealthy widow suddenly buys it. This is a fantastic mystery that left me wanting to read other novels by this author!
