Staff Review: "The Garden of Small Beginnings"
Single mother for three years after her husband died tragically in front of their home, Lillian is just starting to get used to her new life as a widow. Soon her unimaginative but manageable routine is thrown for a loop when she's enrolled in a gardening class for work, to help her with her illustrations. Each week she's forced a little further down her road of healing through the interactions she has in gardening class, and her life starts to open up. While I normally would not pick up a book like this, I was intrigued, and once I started, I just couldn't stop reading. I was expecting a depressing novel about loss, but instead got a very compassionate but surprisingly hilarious novel about a woman's healing process. It's a surprisingly uplifting and hilarious read!check it out more reviews
