Staff Review: "Maybe In Another Life"
"Life is long and full of an infinite number of decisions. I have to think that the small ones don’t matter, that I’ll end up where I need to end up no matter what I do." Hannah Martin recently ended her relationship with a married man in New York City and moved back to her hometown of L.A. She moves in with her best friend Gabby and her husband Mark. Gabby and Mark throw Hannah a welcome home party where Hannah bumps into her old flame Ethan. When Gabby and Mark decide to leave for the night, they ask Hannah if she wants to stay out with Ethan or go home. From this point on, Hannah's story is told from two different scenarios in alternating chapters; the one where she went home with Gabby and Mark, and one where she stayed out with Ethan. The reader is constantly questioning if small decisions really do shape our future. Or, do things work out so we fulfill our destiny no matter what choices we make?
