Staff Review: "The One"
"The One" is the third and final book of The Selection Trilogy. The central character, America, and three other young ladies are still vying for Prince Maxon's heart. The country of Illea is experiencing more and more unrest among rebels groups looking for equality and the dissolution of the chaste system. These rebels are threatening the selection process, possibly looking to kill all of those involved with the Royals. As a book alone, the conclusion to the story was plainly written and the story was very shallow lacking a depth and dimension to the characters. After the fist few chapters I was really only reading the book to finish the story and discover what happens in the end. It was very lack-luster.
