Staff Review: "The Rest of Us Just Live Here"
Mikey and his small, close knit group of friends live in a world where extraordinary and unbelievable things happen on a regular basis. As Mike and his friends navigate their senior year of high school, strange supernatural events continue to occur while a bunch of other kids systematically die. Although his group is never the hero of the story and their lives seem mundane, we learn that even though they are never really saving the world, they are extraordinary in their own ways. This is a fairly fast and easy read and it has its moments of quirk and charm. You will find yourself relating to the characters of the book and thinking that you know someone just like them, especially from high school. I particularly enjoyed how the book was set up and written to give the reader a taste of the real danger happening alongside the seeming ordinary lives of the main characters. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quirky, inspirational book about being yourself and realizing just how special you really are.check it out more reviews
