The Teen Review: "Stop Pretending: What Happened When My Big Sister Went Crazy"
This book is about a girl and what happened when her big sister went crazy. Her sister went crazy and had to go to a mental house. The family would go and visit her but it was really hard for the girl because sometimes her big sister didn't even remember her. All she wanted was her big sister to be normal again but that never happened.
Also in the story, the girl told us about the good times when her older sister didn't go crazy yet. The girl would always talk about how good of a family they were and how much fun they had together before the big sister went crazy. When ever the family was over in the mental house and they play games, the big sister would always play wrong but they didn't mind, as long as they had family time. And once, the big sister got angery and threw the board game on the ground and got into this fit.
I liked this book alot. In fact, I even researched on Sonya Sones. I learned that this was an actual story and it really happened to Sonya. The inspiration for this book came from her class, because the class was asked to right a poem so Sonya decided to write one on her sister and how she went crazy at age 18 and how hard it was for her even though she was still little. This book was really good and an easy read because it was in a poem format.
(The book Stop Pretending: What Happened When My Big Sister Went Crazy is by Sonya Sones. Sing A.T. recommends this book for ages 10 to 13 years old.)
