Staff Review: "Twelve Slays of Christmas"
When Holly White’s fiancé cancels their wedding, she heads home to Mistletoe, Maine. Holly is looking to heal her broken heart at her parent’s Christmas tree farm at Christmastime. Her plan for healing gets sidetracked when a local resident, Margaret Fenwick, is found murdered on the tree farm. When the murder weapon is identified as a wooden stake used to identify trees, Sheriff Evan Grey turns his attention to Holly’s father, Bud, and his staff as murder suspects. Holly then sets out to prove her father and his staff are innocent of the crime. As Holly tours the historic town looking for suspects, she gains the attention of the sheriff and of the murderer.
I enjoyed reading this cozy mystery placed in Maine. The main character, Holly, is an overly-curious, truth-seeker who will do anything to protect those she loves, even put herself in danger. The strong relationships between family and friends in this series are idealistic. The reader will be put in a festive mood as this mystery takes place during the Christmas season.check it out more reviews
