Staff Review: "Uninvited"
It seems as though every time you turn on the news you hear/see reports of violence. What would happen if there was a way to test and see who would be most likely to commit those crimes before they happen? This book delves into an example of that. Author Sophie Jordan writes a very well done novel exploring the possibility of being able to test DNA to see who has the gene that makes you a criminal. This is the first book in a series that follows the life a girl named Davy Hamilton, and how learning that she has the Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS), aka the kill gene, changes the course of her life. She is a music prodigy, accepted at Julliard, but that all comes crashing down around her. She is taken into the custody of a group called The Wainright Agency, where she is taken to a type of boot camp to learn how to control her potential violent behavior, all because the homicide rate throughout the whole USA has been going up exponentially. Davy's whole world changes in an instant just because of some DNA test. Would you be able to handle it? What would you do if you discovered you had "The Kill Gene"? Read this book to find out exactly how much Davy's life changes and how she handles the change.check it out more reviews
