Staff Review: "The Wife Between Us"
Vanessa can’t believe that her ex-husband Richard is remarrying so quickly! She thought her replacement was going to be a short term fling, but news of their impending wedding has her in a tailspin. She’s barely holding it together as it is—she’s living in her aunt’s spare room, living off commissions as a saleswoman in a swanky department store (where she was once the well-heeled customer), and is drowning her sorrows with bottles of wine. She’s determined to stop the wedding, but is she acting as a woman scorned? A woman desperate to get her husband and well-appointed life back? You’ll have to read the book to find out because to say anything more may reveal too much. This complicated story is non-linear and told from multiple perspectives, with Vanessa and Nellie shouldering most of the load. The story kept me riveted as it shifted points of view and between past and present and steadily increased the suspense. Who is to be believed? Fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train are likely to enjoy this story of a marriage gone wrong. The audiobook is also excellent.check it out more reviews
