The following is a selection of books written by authors featured in the 2020 Central Wisconsin Book Festival (CWBF)!
From fiction to nonfiction to poetry, this year's "virtual" CWBF will be a great opportunity for members of the community to hear from notable writers with diverse backgrounds.

"AN AMERICAN SUNRISE: POEMS"
A stunning new volume from the first Native American Poet Laureate of the United States, informed by her tribal history and connection to the land.

From the ring of the ax in the woods, to the scream of the saw blade in the mill, to the founding of many of Wisconsin’s communities, Jerry Apps does an outstanding job bringing Wisconsin’s logging and lumbering heritage to life.

"THE GREY EAGLES OF CHIPPEWA FALLS"
In the xenophobic atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, Ku Klux Klan activity spiked in Wisconsin and gave rise to Women's Klan no. 14, also known as the Grey Eagles of Chippewa Falls.

"DEAD MAN DANCING"
Investigating the savage beating of a migrant worker who refuses to reveal his attacker, Sheriff Heidi Kick is catapulted into a murder case in the underground world of illicit cage fighting, before her husband suddenly disappears.

"ADD THIS TO THE LIST OF THINGS THAT YOU ARE"
A cat culler in an Arizona trailer park community mulls his daily routine. An old mercenary explains the history of edible eel in New Zealand. A divorce′ plays homewrecker across Finland and Russia while his worldly possessions sit in a full self-storage unit. These dark and stunning stories explore how we sustain relationships when everything goes sideways and how we find meaning when the old patterns and structures of life give way. Many of Chris Fink's characters have outgrown their rural roots but still feel ill-equipped for the urbane scenarios in which they find themselves.

Written by expert Wisconsin birder Charles Hagner and filled with gorgeous color images by Brian E. Small, this book is the perfect companion for anyone wanting to learn more about the natural history and diversity of the state’s birds and when and where to see them.

"THE HOME FOR WAYWARD CLOCKS"
When James Elgin opens his clock museum, he only wants to survive after being laid off. Instead, he saves his entire town. As tourists descend on What Cheer, other businesses in the depressed farm area adopt a clock theme and soon, What Cheer is on the map, providing welcome relief for travelers moving through monotonous Iowa.
