Wisconsin's Logging Heyday With Jerry Apps
We're excited to welcome one author Jerry Apps to the Central Wisconsin Book Festival to discuss his new book about our state's storied logging history!
Although 2020 is the fourth year of the festival, it's the first year that we've hosted Apps, who is one of our state's most well-known authors and historians! And it's good timing this year because he'll be talking about his just-published book "When the White Pine was King." The book (and Jerry's talk) not only covers the state's logging heyday, but also the aftermath of farming and reforestation and the legacy of the state's lumber and wood products industries. A Q&A will follow the talk.
This event is free and open to the public, and takes virtually via the platform Zoom. More information on how to view this event will be coming soon! Call 715-261-7230 for more information.
Support for the 2020 Central Wisconsin Book Festival was provided through the Community Arts Grant Program of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, with funds provided by the Wisconsin Arts Board, a state agency; the Community Foundation; and the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation.
