In a hospital around Christmastime, a man meets a five year-old girl with cancer. The man reflects back on his own life, and how he abandoned his son years earlier in order to pursue professional success. Now, the man is given the chance to do something selfless that could change the destiny of the little girl and wonders if it's too late to forge a relationship with the son he left behind all those years ago.

★★★★ When I saw this new book on the adult fiction shelf in the library, I judged it by physical size and the fact that it had less than 75 pages. I wondered, what could possibly be on the pages that makes it so popular? A man who loved work ahead of everything else in life, including his wife and even his own son, makes a decision with the lady in the gray sweater (and a clipboard) that will forever change the life of one very young child who is struggling with certain death from cancer.
