Book Club: "Educated" by Tara Westover

Join our Athens Branch staff and other book lovers for a discussion of their December book club pick, Educated by Tara Westover.

Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was 17 years-old the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara's older brothers became violent. Tara decides to pursue an education in the outside world, which leads her to England and beyond.

Open to the public and no registration required. In addition to these in-person gatherings, the Athens Branch will continue to offer its Book of the Month selections. Call the Athens Branch at 715-257-7292 for more information. If you would like to participate in this book club discussion virtually, contact the Branch and we'll do our best to make that happen!
